Jamaican Athletes Shine at Miramar Invitational Meet

At the Miramar Invitational meet in Florida, Jamaican athletes Rohan Watson, Rusheen McDonald, and Ackelia Smith claimed victories in their respective events. Meanwhile, Shericka Jackson achieved a remarkable personal record in the women’s 300m at 36.13 seconds, ranking as the third-best performance by a Jamaican in this event.
The men’s 200m saw Nigel Ellis take the second position with a wind-aided 20.52 seconds. Additionally, national record holder Danniel Thomas-Dodd excelled in the women’s shot put, finishing second with a distance of 18.80m, while Lloydricia Cameron placed fifth. The event showcased considerable talent from Jamaica, reinforcing the nation’s strong presence in track and field sports.
