Deployment of Ethiopian and Egyptian Troops to Support AUSSOM in Somalia
The African Union and Somalia have approved the deployment of 2,500 Ethiopian troops and nearly 1,100 Egyptian troops for the AUSSOM mission. Concurrently, Egypt is set to contribute approximately 1,100 troops to this operation, as indicated by a recent UN Security Council report. The overall force total for AUSSOM will nearly reach 12,000 personnel, not including police and security officers.
