Frankly, that would be a great injustice,” he asserted during an interview with the BBC.

However, he firmly rejected the notion that his family should bear responsibility for the incident. Haftar also differentiated between his commission and the Presidential Council’s reconciliation committee, emphasizing that the latter has, unfortunately, focused on other issues since its inception. “All that’s happening is a budget being spent in the name of reconciliation with no results on the ground,” he remarked, highlighting the lack of tangible progress.
