This endorsement came during visits by Indian all-party parliamentary delegations to these countries — part of a larger initiative aimed at shedding light on Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border terrorism, especially following the recent attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
The delegation, which included BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, engaged in extensive discussions in the UK. These meetings covered a range of topics, with an emphasis on Operation Sindoor, a key shift in India’s counter-terrorism strategy. Notably, the delegation sought to strengthen ties with UK officials, think tanks, and parliamentary groups, emphasizing a united front against terrorism.
During their time in London, the Indian representatives met with key figures, including UK Minister for Citizenship and Migration, Seema Malhotra. The Labour Party’s India Friendship Groups expressed strong solidarity, agreeing that dismantling terror networks and addressing funding should be top priorities for international cooperation.
At the Conservative Campaign Headquarters, delegation members spoke with party co-chairs, who expressed their strong support for India’s anti-terrorism efforts. They acknowledged the global ramifications of terrorism and recognized the contributions of the Indian community in the UK.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, in a post on social media platform X, highlighted discussions with UK-based think tanks, where they detailed India’s robust approach to state-sponsored terrorism. He remarked on India’s historical ability to handle threats from Pakistan while advocating for peace and recognizing the need for decisive actions against terrorism.
Meanwhile, an all-party delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde concluded a significant visit to Liberia. In Cairo, another delegation led by NCP (SP) Supriya Sule met with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit. The Indian community in Egypt warmly welcomed the delegation, appreciating their message of solidarity against terrorism. Earlier, Indian Ambassador Suresh Reddy briefed the delegation on India-Egypt relations, especially concerning joint efforts in counter-terrorism. Subsequent meetings at the Egyptian Senate House reiterated the strong partnership between India and Egypt in the face of terror threats.
