President Yoon congratulated Cuong on his recent appointment and affirmed Vietnam’s significance as a key partner in initiatives such as the ASEAN-RoK Solidarity Initiative and the RoK’s Indo-Pacific Strategy. The leaders agreed to enhance cooperation through regular delegations, aiming for a bilateral trade target of $100 billion in the near term and $150 billion by 2030. The RoK promised to provide support in critical areas such as human resource development and technology transfer to enhance Vietnam’s integration into global supply chains. Furthermore, the RoK will extend official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam with more favorable terms to invest in projects addressing strategic infrastructure, climate change, and energy transformation. The two sides expressed commitment to collaborative efforts on international and regional matters of mutual interest, including the East Sea, advocating for peaceful dispute resolution and adherence to international law. President Cuong also conveyed an invitation for President Yoon to visit Vietnam, reciprocating Yoon’s earlier invitation to visit the RoK at a later date.
