Oman and Angola Strengthen Ties Through Agreement and MoUs

On Thursday, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik hosted President Joao Lourenco of Angola at the Al Alam Palace, where both leaders oversaw the signing of an agreement and two memoranda of understanding (MoUs). The agreement emphasizes Oman acquiring a stake in Angola’s Catoca and Luele mines, while the first MoU focuses on energy cooperation, and the second aims to explore strategic financial initiatives between the two nations. Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority, represented Oman in the signing, alongside Angolan ministers Diamantino Pedro Azevedo and Vera Esperança dos Santos.

President Lourenco’s official visit to Oman concluded on Saturday, where he was bid farewell at the Royal Airport by notable figures, including Chairperson Abdulsalam Mohammed al Murshidi and other dignitaries.
