Bankole Adeoye’s re-election as the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security.

The briefing was attended by various ministers and officials, including the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Finance.
The primary theme of this year’s AU summit is “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations,” emphasizing reparatory justice and racial healing. Amidst the key discussions, President Tinubu is set to address the Summit-level meeting of the AU Peace and Security Council, focusing on today’s critical security issues, including the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Additionally, the President will engage in meetings centered on health financing, the establishment of an Africa Credit Rating Agency, and climate change initiatives. He is scheduled to return to Abuja on Monday after his participation in the summit.
