Mongolian athletes excelled at the fourth round of the 2025 UIAA Ice Climbing World Tour in Longmont, Colorado, securing two golds and one silver medal. N. Selenge won gold in women’s speed, while N. Kherlen took the gold in men’s speed, with his brother Ch. Mandakhbayar earning silver. Nearly 90 climbers from 15 countries participated in this event.

Ulaanbaatar, February 24, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The fourth stage of the 2025 UIAA Ice Climbing World Tour occurred from February 21 to 23, 2025, in Longmont, Colorado, USA. Remarkably, Mongolian athletes shone in this prestigious competition, clinching two gold medals and one silver medal.

In the women’s speed event, International Master of Sports N. Selenge triumphed with an impressive time of 12.64 seconds, marking her third consecutive victory in the World Cup series. This achievement exemplifies her exceptional skill and determination in the sport.

In the men’s speed category, International Master of Sports N. Kherlen secured gold with a swift performance, completing the course in 7.43 seconds. This victory makes him a two-time World Cup Champion while maintaining his position at the pinnacle of world rankings. His brother, International Master of Sports Ch. Mandakhbayar, earned the silver medal, finishing in 8.67 seconds. Additionally, O. Saikhanjargal achieved a commendable sixth place in this category.

The recent round of the ice climbing tour attracted nearly 90 elite athletes from 15 nations, all competing fiercely in strength, speed, and strategy disciplines. The host country, the United States, showcased the largest contingent of participants, consisting of 27 climbers.

Following the current round, four Mongolian athletes are scheduled to return home after competing in the final leg of the 2025 UIAA Ice Climbing World Tour, which will take place in Edmonton, Canada, on February 27, 2025.
