On February 28, 2025, the men’s freestyle wrestling competition concluded at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Event in Tirana, Albania. The Iranian freestyle wrestling team emerged victorious, securing the team title with a total of 135 points. Following Iran, the United States placed second with 97 points, while Japan secured third position with 93 points.
Outstanding performances were exhibited by Iranian wrestlers, including Kamran Ghasempour and Amirhossein Zare, who each earned gold medals. Additionally, Erfan Alizadeh won a silver medal on the second day of the event. On the first day, Rahman AmouzadAli and Ali Momeni both captured gold in their respective weight classes (65kg and 57kg), with Younes Emami rounding out the team’s success by winning a bronze medal in the 74kg category.
Kamran Ghasempour delivered an impressive performance in the 92kg division, defeating Alan Bagaev (UWW) decisively with a score of 11-0. Amirhossein Zare showcased his skills in the 125kg weight class by besting Zelimkhan Khizriev (UWW) with a score of 10-0. However, Erfan Alizadeh faced a close challenge, ultimately losing to Arash Yoshida, an Iranian-Japanese wrestler, with a score of 3-2 in the 97kg division.
