After his ordination by Bishop Nicolás Cotugno in 2010 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Montevideo, Fr. Álvaro has held numerous influential positions. He served as the Director of the Department of Philosophy, Dean of Law, and Vice-Rector for University Environment at the Catholic University of Uruguay between 2011 and 2021. Additionally, he was the Parish Administrator at Nuestra Señora de Fátima in Montevideo from 2014 to 2018 and has been a Judge of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of the Archdiocese since 2012. Presently, he serves as the Rector of the Seminary College in Montevideo and oversees its community.
