Angola is targeting the establishment of a pharmaceutical production complex by the year 2026. Although the initiative is in its nascent phase, with the laying of the first stone having just occurred, the stakeholders are optimistic about its completion within the next 18 months.

Currently, the Special Economic Zone is witnessing the development of over 60 business projects, predominantly in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Manuel Pedro, President of the board of directors of the SEZ, has indicated that in the forthcoming months, additional industries will be operational in the region, complementing the existing 89 enterprises covering various sectors.
