In a meeting at the Extraordinary Arab Summit, Egyptian President Al-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Lebanon and President Aoun. On Tuesday, during the Extraordinary Arab Summit convened in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt engaged in discussions with President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon. The meeting underscored Egypt’s strong commitment to supporting Lebanon’s pursuit of stability and security, as articulated by Egyptian Presidency Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy.

President Al-Sisi stressed the necessity of strengthening bilateral ties across various sectors, particularly in the economic domain. He indicated that Egyptian enterprises are prepared to actively participate in Lebanon’s development and reconstruction initiatives, expressing Egypt’s readiness to offer extensive support to improve the capabilities of Lebanese state institutions.

Additionally, President Al-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s backing for the enforcement of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and support for UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The two leaders mutually recognized the urgent need for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, reflecting a shared commitment to regional stability.

President Aoun expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with President Al-Sisi, emphasizing the strong fraternal relationship between Egypt and Lebanon. He acknowledged Egypt’s ongoing assistance to Lebanon and its inhabitants, reinforcing both leaders’ aspirations to foster enhanced bilateral cooperation in all sectors.
