Egypt and Armenia Seek Collaboration in Healthcare Sector
Egypt and Armenia are exploring collaboration in the health sector through a meeting involving Deputy Prime Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Ambassador Armen Sarkissian. Furthermore, they discussed the prospect of signing bilateral agreements to facilitate trade in pharmaceuticals, extending an invitation to the Armenian delegation to visit the Egyptian Drug Authority to comprehend regulatory processes and expedite the registration and export of pharmaceutical products, particularly through Vacsera.
To enhance cooperative efforts, Minister Abdel Ghaffar proposed organizing a field visit for the Armenian ambassador to observe Egyptian pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, hoping to showcase the industry’s advanced technologies.
The dialogue extended to Armenia’s advancements in health insurance, exploring potential collaboration in this area. Minister Abdel Ghaffar invited an Armenian health insurance delegation to Egypt to examine the operational mechanisms and challenges faced in managing the country’s health insurance system.
In an effort to further bilateral engagement, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing a visit for a delegation of Egyptian pharmaceutical manufacturers and healthcare professionals to Armenia in July. This initiative is intended to identify business opportunities, encourage cooperation between Egyptian companies and Armenian medical centers, and enhance joint health investments.
Ambassador Sarkissian expressed Armenia’s strong interest in fostering collaboration with Egypt across various healthcare sectors, particularly focusing on pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical training, and knowledge exchange. Additionally, he conveyed an official invitation from the Armenian Minister of Health for Minister Abdel Ghaffar to visit Armenia to expand the scope of joint health initiatives between both countries.
