Trinidad and Tobago advanced to the Women’s Super50 final, set for March 7 against Barbados at Warner Park. Despite a no-result match against Guyana, TT’s strong points secured their place. Barbados earned their final spot with a nine-wicket win over the Leeward Islands, while other matches concluded with no results due to rain.

Trinidad and Tobago (TT) has secured a place in the final of the Women’s Super50 tournament, scheduled to take place at Warner Park, Basseterre, St. Kitts, on March 7 at 10 AM. Despite their last preliminary match against Guyana ending in a no-result due to rain, TT held a higher point total, enabling them to advance. Barbados will compete against TT in the final after achieving a convincing nine-wicket victory over the Leeward Islands.

The TT women’s team’s spin attack demonstrated its effectiveness during the tournament. In the match against Guyana, TT’s bowlers excelled, with contributions from both spinners and pace bowler Amelia Khan. The dismissal of Mandy Mangru via a spectacular one-handed catch by Anisa Mohammed set the tone for the bowling performance. Following this, the bowlers dismantled Guyana’s batting lineup, resulting in a total of 108 all out across 45.2 overs.

For TT, the standout performances came from bowlers Karishma Ramharack and Amelia Khan, each claiming three wickets for 14 and 18 runs, respectively. Even though TT faced early setbacks in their innings, rain curtailed the match when they were at 16 for 2 after eight overs, leading to a no result. Other matches also concluded without results, including a tie between the Windward Islands and Jamaica.

The day will feature other notable contests, including the third-placed playoff between Guyana and the Windward Islands, and the fifth-place playoff between Jamaica and the Leeward Islands. Scheduled matches are to commence at 10 AM on the same day.

In summary, Trinidad and Tobago has advanced to the final of the Women’s Super50 after enduring a rain-affected match against Guyana, while Barbados claimed their position by defeating the Leeward Islands decisively. The performance of TT’s bowling attack remains commendable, positioning them strongly ahead of the upcoming final scheduled for March 7.
