Aoun Declares Government Sole Authority in Lebanese Decision-Making

A subsequent visit to Saudi Arabia is anticipated after Eid al-Fitr, where several ministers may sign crucial bilateral agreements. During the emergency Arab summit in Egypt, Aoun mentioned receiving pledges of support from regional leaders, specifically stressing political and military backing from Jordan’s King Abdullah II and endorsement from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas regarding Lebanon’s policies on Palestinian refugee camps.

In regard to appointments and governance, Aoun asserted that only the cabinet holds decision-making power, urging ministers to respect confidentiality and refrain from any political meddling.
