The UAE condemned recent attacks by Assad loyalists on Syrian forces, reaffirming its support for Syria’s stability and territorial integrity. Military responses to these attacks resulted in casualties, and significant political changes are occurring as anti-regime efforts lead to transitions in leadership.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) publicly condemned the recent attacks on Syrian security forces conducted by remnants of the former regime loyal to Bashar Assad. The Emirati Foreign Ministry issued a statement emphasizing the UAE’s steadfast support for Syria’s stability and territorial integrity and expressing solidarity with the Syrian populace during these tumultuous times.

In response to the major offensive by Assad loyalists in the coastal town of Jableh, various military and security units across Syria mobilized to counter the attacks, which tragically resulted in the deaths of 11 Syrian army personnel. Furthermore, Gayyas Delle, a commander leading part of the deposed regime forces, declared the formation of a military council aimed at overthrowing the existing government.

Bashar Assad, who has been the Syrian leader for nearly 25 years, fled to Russia on December 8, marking the end of the Baath Party’s long-standing dominance since 1963. On January 29, Ahmed al-Sharaa, who spearheaded the anti-regime efforts to oust Assad, was announced as the president for a transitional period, thereby signaling a significant shift in Syria’s political landscape.

In conclusion, the UAE’s condemnation reflects its longstanding commitment to supporting Syria’s stability and sovereignty. The situation in Syria remains precarious as military forces rally against Assad loyalists, and significant political developments follow the regime’s collapse. As the Syrian landscape continues to evolve, external support and solidarity from nations like the UAE will play a crucial role in shaping its future stability.
