Bangladesh is scheduled to visit Pakistan in May for three One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals, as outlined in the ICC’s Future Tours Programme. Faruque shared that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to a reciprocal tour outside of the official FTP, potentially enhancing cricketing ties between the nations.

In light of Bangladesh’s recent exit from the Champions Trophy, Faruque expressed the BCB’s intent to prepare for the upcoming 50-over World Cup, set for 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The BCB is also contemplating changes to the T20I leadership structure after the resignation of Najmul Hossain Shanto as captain in January. Faruque indicated that the new captain would likely be selected from recent leaders of the team, with Litton Das emerging as a strong candidate.

Additionally, the BCB plans to honor Mushfiqur Rahim, who recently announced his retirement from ODIs. “We will plan on how to give Mushfiqur Rahim a proper farewell. He is probably one of the legends of our team,” stated Faruque, recognizing Rahim’s significant contributions over nearly two decades.
