New Diplomatic Headquarters for Côte d’Ivoire in Egypt’s New Capital
The ACUD and the Côte d’Ivoire Embassy have signed a land sale agreement for new embassy headquarters in the Diplomatic District of the New Administrative Capital. This initiative emphasizes improved diplomatic relations and urban development. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the agreement, which aligns with Egypt’s growth as a diplomatic hub.
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) and the Côte d’Ivoire Embassy in Cairo have finalized a land sale agreement for a 5,000-square-meter site. This location in the Diplomatic District of the New Administrative Capital (NAC) will house the new embassy headquarters and the ambassador’s residence.
The agreement was signed by Khaled Abbas, Chairperson of ACUD, and Ambassador Albert G. Dole of Côte d’Ivoire, attended by representatives from both organizations. Ambassador Dole expressed his enthusiasm about the new embassy location, indicating that it further strengthens the ties between Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt.
Ambassador Dole remarked, “We are delighted to be in the NAC, following the directives of the Ivorian President. This move is a testament to the strong ties between our two nations.” He commended NAC for its superior infrastructure and suitability for diplomatic activities.
Khaled Abbas also welcomed the agreement, stating, “We are pleased to sign this agreement, paving the way for the embassy’s relocation to the Diplomatic District in the New Administrative Capital.” He noted the growing trend of embassies relocating to NAC, contributing to its emergence as a prominent diplomatic district.
The master plan for the NAC’s first phase includes a dedicated Diplomatic District to consolidate foreign embassies currently distributed across Cairo. This initiative aims to establish a modern diplomatic hub that enhances the capital’s role in global diplomacy. The agreement with Côte d’Ivoire is part of ACUD’s ongoing strategy to attract diplomatic missions, following similar agreements with other embassies, including Algeria.
