GANHRI Advocates for Strengthened Application of International Law

At the GANHRI annual meeting, Chairperson H E Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah called for consistent application of international law by UN member states to foster dialogue and collaboration. At the annual meeting of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) in Geneva, Chairperson H E Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah urged UN member states to consistently apply international law to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration. Al Attiyah emphasized the urgency of global leadership to protect future generations from current global challenges that threaten established international law foundations.
During her address, Al Attiyah highlighted significant global challenges impacting the multilateral system and international law’s core values. She expressed concern over the regression of hard-won gains in women’s rights and emphasized collaborative efforts as essential to safeguarding and promoting human rights.
