Simone Gbagbo articulated the coalition’s purpose, stating, “For its part, our coalition decided today to take another step forward in its project to strengthen the grouping of the opposition by formalising this structure.” However, the absence of Laurent Gbagbo’s party raises concerns regarding the fragmentation of the opposition, as they currently exist in three separate blocs, potentially diluting their electoral strength in favor of the ruling party.

Political analyst Christophe Koffi suggested that President Alassane Ouattara’s administration may face challenges if the elections proceed to a second round. He emphasized, “Unlike in Cameroon, the political parties have formed a bloc and the electorate will be very large around this bloc.” Koffi further argued that should the elections enter a second round, unity among opposition voters could shift the political landscape significantly against the ruling party.
