Dr. John Steytler has resigned as the Chief Executive of the Development Bank of Namibia, effective immediately, with Mr. John Mbango appointed as the interim CEO while a recruitment process for a permanent replacement begins. The Board acknowledges Dr. Steytler’s contributions during his brief tenure that started in September 2023.

The Development Bank of Namibia has announced the immediate resignation of its Chief Executive, Dr. John Steytler. This decision comes as Dr. Steytler seeks to explore new interests and opportunities, thus concluding his term which commenced in September 2023.

Evangelina Nailenge, the Chairperson of the Board, expressed gratitude for Dr. Steytler’s contribution stating, “Dr. Steytler has served as Chief since 2023 and has made a marked impact on the Bank. We thank him for his service and dedication and wish him well in his future endeavors.”

In the wake of his resignation, the Development Bank reassured stakeholders that it remains committed to its mandate, focusing on contributing to Namibia’s development and socioeconomic growth. The recruitment process for a new Chief Executive will commence immediately.

Meanwhile, Mr. John Mbango, who leads Coverage and Large Transactions, has been appointed as the interim Chief Executive while further arrangements are made.
