Escalating Violence in North Darfur: Artillery Shelling Results in Civilian Deaths

In North Darfur, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) report that artillery shelling in El Fasher, allegedly carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has resulted in the deaths of ten civilians, among whom are five children. This incident has heightened concerns over escalating violence, with both factions exchanging artillery and drone attacks. The SAF highlighted the grim statistics, emphasizing the urgent need for health care for the injured and addressing the prevailing anxiety within the community.
Furthermore, the SAF’s command announced that during an operation, they managed to shoot down seven drones targeting El Fasher, as part of a larger pattern of drone activity that peaked with over forty drone launches and numerous artillery shells fired towards the city.
