South Korean Ambassador Bok-Won Kang has urged Mozambique’s Assembly to draft laws that facilitate investment from South Korea. This appeal was made during a visit aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation. President Margarida Talapa expressed support for stronger ties, acknowledging the robust relationship established since 1993.
In a recent diplomatic engagement, South Korean Ambassador to Mozambique, Bok-Won Kang, urged the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Margarida Talapa, to prioritize legislation that would expedite the implementation of South Korean investments in Mozambique. This request was made during a courtesy visit aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across various development sectors.
Ambassador Kang emphasized the necessity for the Mozambican parliament to endorse laws conducive to South Korean business investment. He indicated that legal mechanisms are required to facilitate South Korean entrepreneurs in their investment endeavors within Mozambique. “Parliament should help, through legal mechanisms, to ease the implementation of the various issues raised by the Korean authorities,” stated Ambassador Kang.
In response, President Talapa affirmed the Assembly of the Republic’s commitment to strengthening cooperative ties with South Korea through actionable initiatives. She underscored the excellent relations between Mozambique and Korea, acknowledging the diverse support that Korea has extended to Mozambique.
Diplomatic relations between Mozambique and South Korea have been in place since August 1993, and both countries continue to seek avenues for enhanced partnership and mutual development.
The request from Ambassador Bok-Won Kang to the Mozambican legislative body highlights the importance of legal reform to attract foreign investment, particularly from South Korea. Such reforms may significantly enhance business opportunities and strengthen the bilateral relations that have existed since 1993. The willingness expressed by President Margarida Talapa to facilitate this partnership positions Mozambique favorably for future international investments.
