He allegedly demanded her handbag, which contained personal identification and cash totaling GH¢160. Upon her refusal, Acquah allegedly escalated the confrontation by using a knife, injuring Baidoo and forcing her to surrender her belongings. After the incident, Acquah fled, prompting Baidoo to call for help.

The Sakumono Police Patrol Team apprehended Acquah shortly thereafter, and he was taken to the police station. Baidoo was treated for her injuries at Sakumono Hospital and subsequently at Tema General Hospital, where she underwent stitches for significant wounds on her hand. Reports indicate that the depth of her injury was 6×3 centimeters, and she was later referred for further surgical attention.

In a subsequent incident, Acquah attempted to escape while being escorted to the police charge office, even while in handcuffs, but was quickly recaptured. The prosecution noted that Acquah confessed to the crime in his caution statement, further complicating his defense in the ongoing legal proceedings.
